The Jon Stewart Estrogen Brigade is an online group of more than 450 women and men who admire Jon and his work. The JSEB started out as an online fan club web page but has evolved into much more. The members now participate in chats, gather information for the web page, and write a regular newsletter that includes everything from Jon's upcoming TV appearances, member articles, and excuciatingly horrible poetry by Annie-Wan.
Nikki, the JSEB's Vice President and Webmaster/Dryer Lint Inspector, has a large collection of Jon material. E-mail her at lint@jseb.dreamhost.com for details. Be nice and suck up as much as possible.
Yes. Our annual web space fees are $119.40 plus a ton of labor and time. We have no intention of making a profit. , but we'd love donations to help recoup just the web fees. The laobr and time is on us.
We're trying to sexually harass you, sweet-cheeks. No, seriously, that is a real Jon quote from a live chat hosted by Comedy Central on July 21, 1999. JSEB founder and then president Miss Rebecaa asked Jon about the JSEB. Here is the actual quote. JSEBPresident -- Have you heard of the Jon Stewart Estrogen Brigade, and what do you think of it? Jon Stewart -- I have not, but now I know why I have soft, pouty, full breasts
The JSEB is run by a government (it is no longer run by a board of officers). There are six high-ranking officials in the JSEB chain of command: Annie-Wan Kenobe, President and Elder; Nikki, Vice President and Webmaster/Dryer Lint Inspector; Chaney, Webmaster/Treasurer of Insanity; Krissy, Secretary of Odds and Ends; Kelly, Secretary of Jon's Quick-Witted Cynicism; and Manda, Goddess of Web Page Design. They have never physically met each other but have formed lasting relationships over the computer.
To become a senator, all you need to do is send a Jon-related article, poem, or story to annieJS@earthlink.net or help with a large project. If your submission is accepted for publication in our newsletter, you automatically serve a six month term as a JSEB senator starting with the date of publication. Your duties will include trying to write additional submissions in the future and at least listening to pleas for help from the executive branch for various projects. In other words, technically, you don't have to do anything. Your term will automatically expire after six months. Each new submission restarts the six month term. months. Click here more information and info on the current senators.
Yes, Annie and Annie-Wan are one and the same. How that happened is a long and unexciting story. For more information, check out the JSEB History FAQ.
The JSEB started in January of 1999. After a week of watching The Daily Show and just about everything else she could get her hands on, Miss Rebecca decided to start the Brigade, based loosely on the concept of the Patrick Stewart and David Duchovny Estrogen Brigades. After a week, the JSEB had 17 members, and the JSEB was dropped for a few months due to personal reasons. When the JSEB was started again in May, the amount of members skyrocketed.
Smapdi is a goldfish and the mascot of the JSEB. Smapdi's name is from one of Jon's "News 4 Kidz" segments. In it, Jon always reads a letter from a little boy named Smapdi. Smapdi came into place as the mascot of the JSEB for two reasons. First, the founder and former President, Miss Rebecca, wanted a goldfish and decided he should have some involvement in the club. Second, Jon's loving treatment of the fish he gave to Max during Conan O'Brien just showed it was the perfect low-maintenance pet. Smapdi used to reside in the tank next to Miss Rebecca's computer, but passed away shortly before Miss Rebecca's retirement. Smapdi will always live on in our hearts.
SAA is the official loving JSEB nickname for Jon. It stands for, "Sexy Ass Anchor" and was thought up my JSEB member Sherry.
